As Nigeria  commemorates Children’s Day on May 27, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Engr. Kayode Ojo, has extended heartfelt greetings to all Nigerian children, hailing them as the pride and promise of the nation.

In his goodwill message, Engr. Ojo emphasized the crucial role children play in shaping the country’s future and reaffirmed the need for collective investment in their education, well-being, and moral upbringing.

“Our children represent the brightest light of our nation's future. This day reminds us of our responsibility to nurture, protect, and empower them to become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow,” he stated.

He urged every stakeholder—the government,  institutions, and families to work collaboratively to build an environment where every child can thrive—free from harm, equipped with quality education, and inspired  by hope.

Engr. Ojo concluded his message with a prayer for the continued growth, wisdom, and  happiness of Nigerian children, encouraging them to remain focused, disciplined, and ambitious.
